There are various details possible for the hems of your pants. Unless specifically ordered, we try our best to replicate the original hem of your pants. The price varies depending on the treatment of the hem as well as the fabric involved.
Ourlet de Jean's Machine
Majority of the pants we work with fall into this category. The finished hem will imitate the original hem in type and size at the length that you specify. We choose the closest available threads in size and color of the original hem and sew using similar stitch width. Generally, a darker shade of color is chosen if the exact match is not possible.
Ourlet de pantalon main
Typicallly, the hands sewing is used to achieve invisible hems or blind hems. These are especially the case for dress pants, pants suits or pants with thinner fabric.
Alternatively, invisible hem can also be achieved using sewing machine for certain type of fabrics.
Cuff Hem or Ourlet Revers
This refers to creating a cuff or the rolled bottom of your pants. The cuff can be done using the original pants fabric if the pants length permits. Another fabric can also be used for the cuffs creating a different look.
Ourlet main avec Talonnette
A talonnette is an addition of a fabric at the heels of your pants to reinforce it as some times the rubbing of the shoes can be abrasive to the fabric. This treatment is often applied to dress pants or suits pants with delicate fabric.
The imagination knows no bound.
We try to serve our clients as best as we can. So what you ask, we can do it. This is just a grouping that really lumps everything else that is not covered before. Some of the examples that we have done is a repair of pants that are a little too long and got ripped up during the use. The resulting pants are about 2cm shorter than the original one with another fabric reinforced all around internally.
We can also repairs the work previously done and doesn’t come out quite the way you want it to be.
